Hmm, ich hab den gerade nochmal gefunden. Ich weiß überhaupt nicht, warum der auf #Lemmy gelandet ist: Könnte es am Hashtag # Test (ohne Leerzeichen) liegen? Das wäre ja irgendwie unerwartet.

Das klingt alles danach, dass es besser wäre, dafür einen eigenen Account (wenn auch auf unserer Mastodon-Instanz) einzurichten. Der könnte dann mit Vorschaubildern arbeiten etc..
Nein, geht auch nicht um Blind mit der Gießkanne. Aber vielleicht so die Topmeldungen oder halt ausgewählte Sachen..
Getestet hab ich das schonmal, ich wusste, dass das prinzipiell geht.
Die Frage ist halt, spricht etwas dagegen, ab und zu über unseren Mastodon-Account direkt Artikellinks (auch) auf Lemmy zu verbreiten oder würde dasvielleicht als aufdringlich gewertet?

The most recent #update for #Mastodon has reached three fourth of the followers from @[email protected], patching the #preview-bug for them. So we should see most of the traffic coming from here again. Yet, the number of visits from the #Fediverse to heise.de hasn't really grown that much.
At least, the three #Twitter-alternatives are again bigger than #X, which keeps declining.
In sum, the four networks deliver half as much traffic than #Twitter alone in the beginning of 2022.

Das jüngste Update von #Mastodon hat etwa drei Viertel der Follower von @[email protected] erreicht und damit auch der Patch für den #Preview-Bug. Wir sollten also wieder so ziemlich alle Klicks sehen, die aus dem #Fediverse zu heise.de führen.
Aber so richtig zugenommen hat die Zahl der Zugriffe trotzdem nicht wirklich.
Wenigstens lagen die #Twitter-Alternativen in Summe vergangene Woche wieder mal vorn (was sie immer öfter tun). Das liegt auch am Sinkflug von #X.

Inzwischen haben fast zwei Drittel der Follower von @[email protected] #Mastodon mindestens in Version 4.3.0 und ich bilde mir ein, erste Folgen zu erkennen. Wir sehen womöglich wirklich wieder mehr #Traffic – heute liegt das #Fediverse bislang bspw. vor #Twitter.
Ist natürlich eine Momentaufnahme und X macht immer große Sprünge, aber noch bekommen ja auch viele auf Mastodon weiter jene Vorschaukarten zu sehen, bei denen wir einen Klick darauf nicht zuordnen können. Das behebt das jüngste Update.

#Twitter keeps decreasing and is already overtaken by Mastodon (thx also to problems with our bot for #X, when it works, X brings more people).
#Flipboard and #Facebook are growing again, #Bluesky and #Threads are far behind. But Threads brings already more traffic than Bluesky, although we can't autopost (every link) there.

Thanks for the answer and the confirmation.
You're right about it being the default on #Mastodon, but it can be changed now. mastodon.social now sends a simple referrer and where's the harm on a bigger platform with many different users?
Here's a nice explanation for why it could help adoption and help with the visibility of a platform like lemmy.wotld without making users unsafe:
