Nice, that's a lot of work, but I can most definitely appreciate the time and effort. Did you do this for your homelab or at work? Or just because, as it might help out others too?

Lmao, I was going to comment about Black Mirror.

I fell like it'd be a mix of LinkedIn and yelp, where people stop only to leave bad reviews, or humble brag on themselves, exaggerating, kissing ass, and being more fake than most are already being in regular social media.

It's a slippery slope, that in theory could be productive, but knowing how companies are, already, with data, NO THANKS! It would be more toxic than Meta & AI combined!

When you say it takes one question at the end, is that you, running the query, or is that automatically triggered elsewhere?

Hey, I never came back to the whole apk pure thing, why do you think it's shady and illegal? I've used it countless times when app updates break features in my older Android 12 device. I've also never had issues installing any of the apps with malware, Trojan, virus, etc.

I always try to be proactive and not reactive, but DNS standards have always been lackluster. Use DNSSEC on anything you host and DoH (DNS over https) or DoT (dns over TLS) wherever possible on the OS or browser.

Get off Google DNS (for privacy) and Cloudflare, and use Quad9 (they offer several) or dns.watch!

If you is a pihole, is easy to toggle on dnssec, and your Firefox-based browser is pretty straightforward too.

Oh, dude, my bad!! I've switched keyboards for swipe and sometimes don't fully proofread everything bc I forget it's not accurate.

Fixed. Storyteller, idk how, but should've been September 😖 fixed the others too.

Anoles. They're everywhere. But don't feel bad, they often drop their tails to evade predators, and also they don't live long enough to really understand what's going on with these giants walking on their basking rocks lol.

I think in your first paragraph, you meant Celsius? With the 0-100 comment.

Anyway, is not really being selfish, it's that most people don't know or don't understand what they've not been taught, and an argument could be made that "it's too difficult"to switch. Same reason we have MPH not Km/h, 12 inches = Foot vs CM or M. Or pounds (Lbs) not kilograms.

I would love to adopt that system as its more intuitive to understand.

I also like the argument of 13 months at 28 days each for a solid Sunday - Saturday approach. Yes, that only = 364 days, which leaves 1 extra each year plus leap year. I day those are called bonus days, where everything is truly shut down for a time to be together, rest, enjoy, etc. Don't make it a big holiday where travel is involved as that requires fuel stations to remain open or grocery stores to operate. Anything like emergency services and whatnot get paid 3x holiday pay not just 2x.

OK one last thing. Fix the goddamn month names!!! September should be 7, October =8th, etc. But somewhere along the lines I think we added July and August so those got pushed out of sync two months and so December meaning 10 is more 12 lol. But we all go along with it because of tradition and history. Not stubbornness or selfishness.

Edited a lot of words

"A lawyer for Sam Altman declined to comment."

Kind of tells me he's guilty and they're either still coming up with a lie or trying to get rid of any evidence.

Also, he's worth 3.4b but sued for 134m... Barely 4%of his worth, and OpenAI is worth far more than that.

None. Got rid of my last when I got married. Owned since brand new, was a 27" Toshiba w Component and S-Video. It worked perfectly well as a kids room TV, but I also got really sick of lugging it when moving and furniture got cheaper and less stable to hold something so heavy too, so it was time to part ways!

Yes, that's kind of the point, it started out of sarcasm and trolling which then turned into loving it for being so bad.. Then it blew up and people bandwagoned and now it's a meme legend.

Are there any alternative app stores that do list them? I might just go to apkpure to side load, but it's annoying these often-recommended browsers aren't available there.

Alternatively, are there any browsers preexisting in F-Droid any of you recommend?

Just got a phone and just installed lineage OS.

Edit: FOUND IT in case anyone is looking https://github.com/BrowserWorks/waterfox-android/releases list of APKs here

A friend of mine shared this link regarding Flock cameras being removed from Illinois. They're a 2-party consent state regarding audio recordings. I figure it's worth sharing here since I don't have other accts

Playing around with a new self-host NAS OS, finally thought about Tailscale. But, I see it wants a login to an account. Checking online, seems I have to use Google, Apple, MS, Github or OIDC (which iassume costs money based on the site).

So how tf y'all setting to your tail scale stuff? I'm not using a big brother us tech account for auth on this thing. Think I'd rather go back to regular wireguard if that's the case.

Edit: OK I see you can use regular email. It didn't load the webpage correctly the first time or I missed it. Odd. Anyway, I do don't want an account add I don't want to risk any data compromise at some point

~~Dooty~~ duty calls but you're also on the way to the bathroom for your own emergency.

What do you take care of first?

Anyone else just sick of trying to follow guides that cover 95% of the process, or maybe slightly miss a step and then spend hours troubleshooting setups just to get it to work?

I think I just have too much going in my "lab" the point that when something breaks (and my wife and/or kids complain) it's more of a hassle to try and remember how to fix or troubleshoot stuff. I lightly document myself cuz I feel like I can remember well enough. But then it's a style to find the time to fix, or stuff is tested and 80%completed but never fully used because life is busy and I don't have loads of free time to pour into this stuff anymore. I hate giving all that data to big tech, but I also hate trying to manage 15 different containers or VMs, or other services. Some stuff is fine/easy or requires little effort, but others just don't seem worth it.

I miss GUIs with stuff where I could fumble through settings to fix it as is easier for me to look through all that vs read a bunch of commands.

Idk, do you get lab burnout? Maybe cuz I do IT for work too it just feels like it's never ending...
