Pretty great to see this (via @[email protected]

Seems like #Linux has seen some significant growth since 2021. In that time, I've done from using #Windows + #ChromeOS to now running Linux (#Mint + #Ubuntu Cinnamon) my laptops.

@Zachariah @lopar49 I used Openphone a few years ago, and it was terrible. Lots of SMS never came through, didn't work for OTPs (even though they claimed it would), terrible customer service. Despite it being more complex technically, JMP.Chat is much, much better.

It's really crazy just how much better #Linux is now than #windows.

A function of Linux getting a lot more user-friendly, and #microsoft...well not sure what they're trying to do, but loading their products with unwanted features and other crap.

@cabhan @wolfinthewoods I actually use both VOIP.ms and JMP.Chat. Useful to have two numbers, but also find the services complementary. If I had to choose one, probably would choose JMP.Chat as I like their mission and vision more, and its more user friendly.

@Showroom7561 @Ulrich signal was difficult to backup/transfer texts, but now they've made it quite easy. recently did it twice with no issues!

@VeganCheesecake @pelletbucket probably the most ethical alternative is http://jmp.chat/. I use it and it works pretty well, though not as user friendly as big tech.

@helenslunch @furrowsofar I'm very happy with https://meet.coop - runs on BigBlueButton, secure and Open Source, but not free. But I don't mind paying for a good service.

@privacyfalcon9899 I've been using https://meet.coop/ for nearly 2 years, find it better than Zoom. Runs on BigBlueButton.
