it does. as an mbin cheerleader, its heartwarming to see the disparate AP based servers communicating with my server. lemmy/friendica/mastodon etc.... knowing that no entity could control all those products. the key of course is the protocol and maintaining ActivityPub as functional, standardized service.

so were at the 'papers please' phase of fascism. got it. love to hear people spout how were watering down the term, when its being implemented exactly.

not really how this guy works. if there isnt a grift that will benefit him personally.. .like cornering the broccoli market... it wouldnt happen.

its not about right or wrong or anything other than 'how do i benefit personally'

id suspect that its because lemmy is designed around threads/groups and pixelfed is designed around post/microblog. this is just how theyve implemented the data coming from lemmy. i thought i read they are working at creating a better group integration which would make the flow from lemmy more natural.

also, lemmy just isnt designed around 'following' or being followed by individual users.. so crossing that bridge is difficult to implement.

they were aware and made several attempts. the failure is with the military ignoring the tower.

100% legal. they carved out exemptions specifically for themselves, and forced a 30 day delay on normal humans from knowing what they purchase/sell. in writing.

this isnt news. insider trading is completely legal if you work for or are related to a congressperson.

im halfway through the netflix series evil. 2 of 4 seasons...

i dont know ill be able to finish it.

it started strong as an xfiles moster-of-the-week but damn the writing is so incredibly poor. im so confused.. how can something with such strong actors... amazing effects.. just be utter garbage.

imdb reviews are wall to wall 'its great but the children'. these reviews were written by the delusional. the kids are the least of the problem with the series. i suspect most reviews were written watching season 1 only.. when there was hope of pulling up from the nosedive that the series was clearly in.

the main characters are so poorly written it removes any caring about what happens to them next. entirely unbelievable and with episode amnesia. i just dont give a shit if they all get hit by a train.

there is almost no continuity between episodes despite each one being written as if it needs it. dont even attempt trying to find a seasonal arc. its like every episode was written with new writers with no knowledge of the series to that point. seemingly huge plot points are never resolved and never discussed ever again.

but it has great monsters... imagined real, human or not. its the one strong point is that it can be freakin scary and the evil is as infuriating as it should be. unfortunately no one ever wins or comes out ahead. they always lose. there are no bright points. there is no hope.

i think the point of evil is that evil has won and the world has lost, especially the viewers.

ive been using/managing/fixing computers and servers for 40+ years. from old AS400 to full on cloud bullshit. i can remember only a single time where boot time mattered... when microsofts DNS failures caused servers to take 15 minutes to boot.. other than that there hasnt been a single time it has ever been a problem or discussed as an issue to be resolved.

so why the fuck is it constantly touted as some benefit!? it grinds my gears when i see anyone stating how fast their machine booted.

am i alone in this?
