@czech NameCheap raised renewals to over $32 for dot live, dot social is now $38, blaming the registries for raising their prices.

On October 4, 233 TLDs had price increases.

I wished to all that is real I hadn't used the dot Live TLD for my self-hosted Mastodon instance. Domain renewal costs are getting out of control and no way to change domain names and keep posts. I could spin up a new instance and then migrate my accounts over but lose everything I've posted, replies, etc esp @[email protected] account.

Be nice if Mastodon and Federation had a way to migrate domain names. If the IO domain TLD goes defunct, probably won't, some big instances could be in a bind.

Luckily, those servers will have a couple years to transition, if it does, per ICANN policies. Still.

If wishes were dollars, we would all be rich. #MastoAdmin #Federation #Fediverse .

@jellyfin

Couldn't wait for the next #Jellyfin #Roku app to drop in the store with the new "View All for Next Up" added so I built the dev app myself in VS Code

With my Parkinson's, it has already made my viewing experience better. I watched some episodes that had fallen off the next up because it was too tedious to hunt & find/use search

I asked for this feature, & they delivered. Not only is it a great feature for everyone, I wanted it to make the app more #a11y for me

Thank you, dev's

I've been wanting a "Next Up View All" in the main home screen of #Jellyfin #JellyFinRoku app for a long time and today someone merged it into main.

With my Parkinson's, this is going to make my Jellyfin Roku experience so much better since I won't have to go hunt and search for items that dropped off the limited list of next.

@ebits21

Thanks. I just want to make sure it's not just an issue with me. It could be an issue with my metadata, etc. Things got messed up during the issues with the first several 10.9* releases, esp with metadata.

@ebits21

Not yet. I want to see if anyone else in the community can replicate it before I do.

I searched GitHub, though.

All Sorting tv show options works on #JellyFin #Roku except sorting by date played. Tried it with Roku app ver2.0.7 and sideloaded 2.0.6dev. Jellyfin ver 10.9.6 and 10.9.7

To replicate, go into a Library and pull up the sorting options and choose date played. neither ascending or descending does anything. All the other sort options work.

Can anyone else replicate this with #JellyFinRoku

I've tested on two different Jellyfin setups.

Works in Android TV Jellyfin App and Web

@subtext

I'm testing it on a "live" backup install with a limited library right now and so far, so good. We'll see how it does before I put it on my main machine. 🤭

I have a setup with a small library that I take with me on the go. If it gets messed up, No biggie to burn it and set it up again, esp since some of the other 10.9.* bugs included deleting media files.

@timbuck2themoon

They are already working on the next release. You might want to hang where you are at for a bit if it is working correctly. 😉

It's been a wild month, let me tell you. Feels like riding a bull and not getting thrown off... 🐂
...Hoping each bug fix release doesn't bring more bugs🐂

Credit to the devs for trying to keep up, though.

#Jellyfin 10.9.5. upgraders

If you have an issue with a locked database and media scanning failing, Set Dashboard -> General -> Performance -> Set "Parallel library scan tasks limit" and "Parallel image encoding limit" both to 1

That worked for me.

This Github thread also has a dev request for a Docker tester for a fix:

@ernest I'm in the middle of mine. Glad you are over yours. I have a little bit longer before it is over. At least my jaw stopped hurting, so I'm not far behind you.
