My heart is broken into pieces, my friend & bird guide of many years that i shared many adventures with, most recently in Panama, has died, it just doesn't seem fair -- he was much younger, i just assumed he would always be there & we were already talking about the next trip...

here is a less cropped version of the same mother and child photo i just posted-- the tree branch they're using was hanging out over the road --

from what i've seen, sloths often "hang around" near roads or human structures but maybe there are just a lot of sloths and the easy "low hanging" fruit are the ones we tend to notice & photograph...

This is another professionally "wrangled" amphibian from my macro day, all were released back into the wild by the property owner/wrangler after the class was over (a couple of hours) but it's still (fedia.io)
