Awesome. I appreciate the input.

I try to stay away from the Samsung site so I don't buy the new phone. Lmao

That's very annoying how complicated it is. Ok, U3 or V30. What about the A? Is it A1? A2? Or does that not matter.

Holy shit, thank you so much. It even has a Qt UI which fits very well with my desktop. Ill definitely use it when I get a card.

Could anyone please suggest a good micro SD card that is reasonably priced and is great for the steam deck? You go to Amazon and you find a gazillion brand with many different prices. Plus all the horror stories I've seen online with all the fake storage people buy from Amazon. So, if you guys have a suggestion I'd really appreciate some links/names. I'm open for best buy and micro center and even Walmart if I needed to. I'm looking for a 1TB card and I don't care about the brand as long as it works well. Thank you all in advance.

Been waiting for this. For those who want to install it before it is officially released. Download the zip file from their GitHub, Enable the developer option in decky loader then choose install plugin from zip file

How are they supposed to milk every last penny they can from everyone they can to achieve them quarterly profits? Enshitification has caught up to Nvidia, too.

Lol. That's what happens when you fuck with the gamers of the internet. So proud of everyone who gave them shit.

This sounds like the "I hate everyone equally" phrase that some "edgy" kids say. lol

They do ray tracing, but not sure how good it is compared to Nvidia. I like FSR personally, but I'm an extremely simple Linux gamer. The only "fancy" thing I have going on is my 4k HDR monitor that is 60Hz. I personally don't run after performance as much as others as long the picture is in 4k. So, I can't give you a great opinion on FSR (just being completely honest with you). It does work great for me. Example, I was playing god of war Ragnarok earlier and I was getting 32 fps on low settings, turned on Frame Gen by FSR ~~far~~, and my fps jumped to 60+ on medium. My GPU is on the low end, an RX6600. So, I'd imagine the rx7900xtx (AMD's highest GPU) would do much better on FSR? Make sure you do extensive research before deciding. You and I have different goals and different ideas about our gaming needs. I also look for cheap things and ok performance. I bought my GPU off of Facebook for $100. I don't care too much about the FPS as long as I'm getting something like 30 or a little higher. You might have different standards. So, again, do your research. To me, $700 savings is very good if you're in the mindset of not really caring too much about all these bells and whistles and just want to play a game and have fun. But that's me.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I'd scrap the 4080 super and get the AMD 7900xtx instead. You're paying way too much for the Nvidia for lower performance. The 7900 performance is slightly better at a much less price. As of the time of this comment, the RX7900 xtx is $870 on Amazon . It'll work perfectly with your CPU, too. Just my two cents. Save yourself $700 or so.

Yup, I'm in 100% agreement on that. I couldn't have said it better. Thank you.

Did he? Or was it like that even back then? I'm reading this book, and it's like a carbon copy of our world in the US nowadays. I keep yelling "oh my god, this is basically happening right now!!!" Not as blatant and (I don't know the word) as in the book, but essentially the same. The book is like now, but on steroids (to explain the word I'm missing). The divide/polarization, the police brutality, the pollution, corporations and exploitation, the government's overreach..... Etc, it's all here now.

It is getting absurd at this poin. Just get a laptop and call it a day

Hi all, I played the shadow of the tombs raider back in August and got to about 25% of it. Today I wanted to play it and thought I'd be able to just continue, but I was wrong. First, steam was saying the game was "out of sync" so I clicked it and it said it was "up to date". Launched the game and it's almost from scratch, like 1 %, so me panik. Looked into the saved data files and they have all these .dat files with one that is a cloud one. Looked online and found a post where someone said I can download my old saves and add them to the folder. Sure enough, downloaded the .dat files for the correct date, but they have reaaaaally long names that have the paths to where they were saved then at the end of each name was the correct name (blahblahblahlinuxsomethingsave206.dat for example). Tried two ways,

One: removed the existing .dat files and replaced them with the ones I downloaded (with their long names)and launched the game. Same thing. I was watching the new ones get created and take over the old ones. Nope, still 1% in the game.

Two: same as one, but I renamed the files to match the existing ones which I removed and replaced. So, save202.dat, save206.dat, profile.dat.....etc Same thing. Am I doing this wrong? How do I go about it? I really don't want to start over on the game. I run Linux, if that makes any difference. Thank you in advance.

I can't help but always worry that one day I'll need paper books. I don't know what it is, but I feel like I should start collecting paper books instead of every single book I have is on my Kobo. Which do you do? If you get paper books, is there a source that sells cheaper books. Books are kind of pricey where I look.

I have the permanently delete option enabled on the right click menu, and every time I want to delete something, this is how large it shows up. Here. Is there a way to make it smaller? This is unnecessarily large for a window with very little functionality. Is this a bug that I should report?

Even gamers nexus' Steve today said that they're about to start doing Linux games performance testing soon. It's happening, y'all, the year of the Linux desktop is upon us. ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ

Edit: just wanted to clarify that Steve from GN didn't precisely say they're starting to test soon, he said they will start WHEN the steam OS releases and is adopted. Sorry about that.

That I can't even redeem.lol

Hi all,
I have all AMD and I wanted to try and set the integrated GPU for passthrough for VMs and leave the discrete one for my daily use. Is this doable? If so, how complicated would it be?
Processor: Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon vega integrated graphics card
GPU AMD RX 6600.
Thank you

This is a major issue for me as a non-native English speaker (it even happens in my own language, but the effect is not as bad). Why do some authors go out of their way to make their books very convoluted? Like they make it so hard for you to connect the dots from different chapters or even the same chapter. What's the point? Do some readers actually enjoy this? Or is it the author trying to show off/feel superior? (This is not meant as an insult, just an assumption/opinion?). I've read several Stephen King books and they're mostly easy to understand, but sometimes he'd go on tangents where shit doesn't make any sense. I just skip all that "filling", as a I call it. Like who's whom, and what's just happened? Where did this come from? And so on. Tried with the Malazan book of the fallen, and holy shit. The beginning of the first book was a major pain to understand, so I stopped and I've been reading more English books so I can get better then go back to it. On the other hand, my wife has introduced me to this writer, Freida McFadden. The lady has the most straight forward books I've ever read. You read and you understand everything from start to end. I don't even find myself getting distracted like I do with the books that I have a hard time understanding. Her books are very clear and the English she uses is very simple in terms of vocabulary. Vocabulary...... That's another can of worms that I don't want to open.
Thanks for reading my rant.

So, I just had to reinstall my system and I'm now going through setting things up and SDDM was too tiny since I have two monitors that are 4k. So I set a hidpi.conf file in /etc/sddm.conf.d and put this in it

[General]

GreeterEnvironment=QT_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTORS=1.5,QT_FONT_DPI=192

[Wayland]

EnableHiDPI=true

[X11]

EnableHiDPI=true

But now only the primary monitor is set to 1.5 scaling, and the other one is still set to 2. I also applied the sddm settings from the settings app and still the same results. Anyone knows how to make them both same scaling?

Thank you

Ethernet plugged in but there is no internet. I have no idea what happened. I just took a normal update like I always do and after that it was all gone. WiFi connects no problem, but there is no internet. Unplugged Ethernet and replugged it back in. Nothing. I dualboot with windows, internet works fine there, so there is no hardware issue. Went into a live environment and chrooted into it and reinstalled network manager and still not a fucking thing. Not sure what these are now. I know about the lo one, but never seen the second wired connection or the virbr0. Any idea how to get my Internet back? I really don't want to reinstall the system because of this. And btw, I even tried a hotspot from my phone and a wire tether from it and still no internet.
System is endeavour OS with KDE on Wayland.
