This is a personal compilation made from fan-circulated recordings from lossless SBD, FM and AUD sources. There is no overlap with the official Sonic Youth Archive releases on nugs.net or bandcamp. I chose from some of my favorite performances across the time period that Jim O'Rourke was a member. Five and a half hours with (almost) no repeats!

Mastering was undertaken to provide continuity. While I wasn't necessarily trying to make it all sound like one big fake show, the intention was that there be no bad edits, abrupt cuts, cut-off notes or stage comments, wild volume jumps, repeated banter..

I went to setup an IA account today and was concerned enough at what I saw to track down the fact that although Dec 31 is recorded as not this way, beginning Jan 21 Wayback Machine begins to surface the addition of a line to support Google Sign-In. I wish they had not added that, since although its presence might help boost the site's visitor conversion numbers, it indirectly perpetuates this ease-of-use argument for why people should just stick with Google for most everything in online life (save social networking..) and so ironically ends up long-term harming IA's mission to provide universal access to all knowledge.
