We have a third party, the NDP, but the best election result they've gotten is being the official opposition. The Liberals are supposed to be the "center" party, but somehow when we're pissed at them the country almost always goes right rather than left.

The list of items in the second round of retaliatory tariffs was supposed to go up for public comment for 21 days before it kicked in; the government should go ahead with the comment period while Trump's tariffs are paused so all the tariffs can be implemented immediately if Trump's tariffs get unpaused.

The law doesn't matter. With Musk's position in the government this will basically end up as extortion: Settle or I'll make things difficult for you.

“Have you noticed how shithead has not left the White House since he was sworn in?”

I guess she hasn't noticed shithead was back on the golf course a week after he was sworn in.

It would take effect on Tuesday and would be in place until the fentanyl overdose issue is sorted.

Any retaliatory tariffs by Canada should be in place until the guns coming from the US issue is sorted.

They should start now. Countries should cut off trading with the US once Trump starts making threats in their direction, instead of waiting for him to make up his mind and do something. He's too used to there not being any consequences.

Reminder that Bethesda is owned by Microsoft, the company that insists it's going to end support for Windows 10 in October and wants everyone to move to Windows 11, which doesn't officially support perfectly functional but somewhat old CPUs. So of course they don't care about GPUs too old to support ray tracing.

As written by Sen. Bradford Blackmon, the bill would make it “unlawful for a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo.”

Biology really isn't my thing, but I think this might make it illegal for a woman to have her period?

There was a time when sneering at international law would not have been a good look for someone aspiring to be Prime Minister of Canada.

But, charting new territory, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre contemptuously called Justin Trudeau “woke” for indicating Canada would abide by a ruling of the International Criminal Court (ICC) — a court that Canada helped establish to punish war criminals.

Poilievre specifically rejects the legitimacy of the ICC charges against Netanyahu, on the specious grounds that Netanyahu was democratically elected.
