I've had one for 2 years and I absolutely love it. It allows you to make really good coffee simply, or endlessly tweak recipes and really deep dive into specialty coffee. So the best of both worlds!

In the top right of the webpage, there is a menu icon, from which you can change to Subscribed. If you want this to be the default view on the Kbin homepage, you can change it in the settings (hover above your profile name in top right > Profile > change to Subscriptions in Homepage)
Sorry, this might be really obvious but did you save the settings after you change it? If you change it and scroll down, there is a save button
