X^3 = x•x•x

X^2 = x•x

X^1 = x

X^0 = 1

X^-1 = 1/x

X^-2 = 1/(x•x)

X^-3 = 1/(x•x•x)

When the exponent is between -1 and 1, it becomes a root function:

X^(1/2) = sqrt(x)

X^(1/3) = cubic root(x)

X^-(1/2) = 1/(sqrt(x))

X^-(1/3) = 1/(cubic root(x))

I am definitely moving from Sam's Club to Costco

I am not sure I have aphantasia, but I definitely have difficulty with images.

The best way I can describe it is like I have mental impressionism.

I can see my wife's face, but it's like I am seeing it out of the corner of my eye and not in focus. If I try to focus on the details, it falls apart like zooming in on the detail of a Monet.

She can remember the conversation we had a month ago, on a date. Like play it back almost word for word. Meanwhile, I barely even remember the date itself.

But I can remember feelings, smells, and sounds. I can look at an image and I can imagine what it smells, or even feels like. Very vividly, the feel of a sunny country day. How the sun and breeze feels on my skin, the smell of the field, and the sound of the insects. I can close my eyes and almost feel like I am there. But ask me to visually describe it, I would have a hard time. (I have a terrible sense of smell now too).

I have a talent for recognizing voices, even if I can't understand the words. I can hear an actor and usually place them pretty easily, but I also can't understand conversational audio if there is any competing sounds. It is so frustrating sometimes and hearing aids don't really help that much.

Photo is unrelated, but Lemmy made me post one, so enjoy my torty.

Isn't the story that Eve was a remake after Lilith was kicked out? He needed the rib as "source material"?

I don't think anyone is going to disagree with you that the direction IBM execs were pushing the tech was terrible. I think this is a great example of how ego and narcissism can stifle innovation.

He was an industrial psychologist. He was trying to develope and fit the technology to a specific psyche. He couldn't get them to learn/use the new technology, so he created an interface for them, that they could/would use.

It also shows how it seems business executives attitudes haven't changed much, when it comes to ego and narcissism.

I feel personally attacked. This is me right now at the moment.

I hate congestion and coughs, but I can deal with them, but once I get a fever, it's like my will to live has been taken away.

The worst is when it starts as a nasal drip, them slowly migrates to the lungs. Then I'm coughing up phlegm for at least a week.

Add on to that, how strong NyQuil affects my brain, it can be weirdly "out of body-ish' for me.

(Does it take days for the side effects of NyQuil) Cough suppressants to wear off any of y'all too?)

I don't hate this idea.

Most of the story is behind a paywall.

My wife refused to listen to me on this. So I took over the laundry. She now agrees with me on this. But now I am doing most of the laundry.

My sister in law used this as an excuse to break up with a guy when he did this.

It is multi-use. It scoops spaghetti AND hard boiled eggs out of the water.

Two is still multi, right?

I have never had an MRI where you didn't completely change into a gown, in a separate room.

They were strict AF, CONSTANTLY asking about piercings, pacemaker, etc... even tattoos (are there metallic ink tattoos?).

How long ago was this?
