Ich selbst finde Zangendeutsch auch nur in einigen Kontexten witzig, ansonsten ziemlich unlustig ("Haha, ich kenne den Insider"). Es entwickelt sich hier irgendwann bestimmt auch so eine Dynamik hin zu irgendwelchen Memes und Einzeiler In-Jokes (die jeder kennt), aber genießen wir es doch, uns eine Zeit wie normale Menschen unterhalten zu können! Also... im Internet. Anonym.
I see it this way: federation is unironically a feature, not a bug. What will the platform look like in 5 years? Maybe none of the currently "big" instances will exist anymore, but others will have taken their place. Maybe a rotation of popular instances will be normal (probably not), I don't know. I can always make a new account and move to another instance - I find that beautiful.
I think if you retain the expectation of a monolithic all-in-one network like Reddit is, the Fediverse might not be for you - but for others, it will be right! Federation won't kill Lemmy, it may attract a certain demographic for sure, but again, I see the merit in that.

Ich hab gestern Abend Mal geguckt, was auf Reddit so abgeht. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass die aktiven User dort froh waren, dass die "scheiß Nerds", wegen denen die Subs zwei Tage weg waren, jetzt endlich weg sind und nun alles normal weitergehen kann. Zu der Protestaktion kann man nun so oder so stehen, aber da war teilweise schon echt Hass auf der Straße. Wenn das der Tonus der "eigentlichen" Reddit-User ist, der sonst bloß nicht so rauskommt... Nunja, zieht mich jetzt nicht so an. Facebookisierung in vollem Gange.
Ich werde vermutlich schon in einzelnen Subs noch lurken, aber allein dadurch, dass Boost wegfällt, nur noch anlassbezogen. Was ja eh gesund ist. Was das hier im Fediverse wird, weiß ich noch nicht, aber das macht es ja gerade so spannend. Und sympatischere Vibes sind hier in jedem Falle.
Ich war eigentlich gerade froh, das reddit-sub hinter mir zu lassen, weil mich der Unfug auf r/600euro so alle gemacht hat. Nunja, da sind wir wieder. Subscribed...
Makes me wonder how large the "cone" of such a burst can get and how often GRBs happen in absolute terms if this tiny target gets hit twice in only a couple of million years. Anyone an expert on this?

I just read your article and have to say your approach resonates with me and I appreciate your transparency. Do other instances use this too and is there may even a collaboration with other instances on this list? It's not going to become easier keeping this list up to date I guess

I don't understand either. Not having any "social media features" like a profile site or "karma" is a big plus for me. I use my account for access and saving links, that's all I expect.
