Yeah new to guix here but I think flatpak is the suggested and reasonable approach to combine with immutable desktops

Lemmy doesn't really have an account export at the moment. There's a javascript workaround for backup of subscriptions, but ended up making this. You can also list all the available communities for a particular instance.

Bit off a dreamland, but if I did have friends/family move to Linux from windows a distro with easy checkpointed rollback would be ideal from a support perspective, but agree it's more of a niche / industry concern then a non technical home user thing
