You have a lot of re-reading to do before you use big words like "ableism".
"Touching grass" is a pejorative. "Going offline" or "detoxing from social media" - or "taking a break from streaming" is a recommendation by most psychiatrists in the world today. I don't think you know the difference.
I don't care what you think about the WHO, but they've collected the opinions of the world of psychiatry and it's clear: the world is suffering from a global mental health pandemic.
To say that this isn't exacerbated online is intellectually disingenuous, dishonest and your basic take shows exactly what your mentality is.
So tell me: whose the ableist here?
Also, I didn't know Vaush had they/them pronouns... except he doesn't.
So you're telling me paranoia (PPD), narcissism (NPD), racism (a little from column A, a little from column B), hatred.(anger issues), depression (lack of confidence, sustained trauma) etc can't be spread through the internet?
Modern psychiatry says yes. A thousand times yes, and anything else is disinformation. Mental disease spreads online. Just not in the way bacteria or a virus would, because the word "spread" means different things in different disciplines - as with most technical verbage.
Like what is a mental disease? What is generational trauma? What is sustained trauma? What is exacerbation? Psychologically speaking. Can one personality disorder stem from another? Can certain issues be spawned from other issues? Can these issues be caused by interaction with people on the internet? Can you be influenced online?!?
Case in point? Fucking Facebook. Other cases in point? Bullying and bigotry online that makes people commit self harm and suicide? Cases of deep depression have verifiably been isolated to interaction with the internet, over longer periods of time. But even more poignant case in point? Vaush is talking exactly like his chat is.
Read the chats. Go on. Go to his streams and read. After that learn what "sustained trauma" is and that your take is the exact one that ableist bullies and bigots use to justify their shitty behavior online. They say "you can just go offline", psychiatrists say "you should go offline." Vaush says "touch grass", I say detox.
Then read about the moderator companies hired by Meta who have to seek psychiatric help because they suffer from mental disease caused by their work place. Do you deny this? Or do we put that all in the "PTSD" box and leave it well alone? Where's the logic in that? How would we know how to effectively treat mental disease if we can't isolate it?
Caring about people is not the point either, is it? We need another effigy. Vaush needs to burn because we're dealing with daddy never loved me issues, so bring out the pitchforks, torches and "well achually's".
