Paying a couple of five or six figure sums to continue advertising on X, versus paying millions to fight a protracted legal battle - I know which option the shareholders of those companies will be pushing for.

Trump is putting tariffs on things Americans buy from overseas that he believes should be made in America. The gamble is that companies that makes those products will choose to open factories/production in the US in response to the tariffs, which will create new jobs and growth in the country.

In comparison, retaliatory tariffs suggested by Trudeau and Sheinbaum are going to impact high demand goods that Americans import that would be very difficult to source in the US (or elsewhere in the world) in the short term. There is unlikely to be significant impact to the Canadian or Mexican economies because Americans must purchase those items and absorb the extra costs.

An example is cars, which can move back and forth across the border many times during assembly. Car manufacturers must simply absorb those extra costs due to the tariffs now.

so true. I too long for an alternative car that features a fart button and a voice changing megaphone and who the fuck knows what else.

Twingate is another option if it’s just device to device networking and you trust all the devices that are in your network. It’s free for personal use and peer to peer so no issues with TOS if you’re streaming.

I’ve really enjoyed how close this show has stuck to the books.

Brit here. “Free Speech” doesn’t mean the same here as it does in the US. We are happy to throw racists, extremist preachers and armchair rioters in jail if they incite violence, spew hatred or radicalise the vulnerable.

We tolerate different views and values, cultures and creeds. But we draw the line at being an absolute fucking prick.

The only ones calling for “free speech” are the ones who want to abuse it.

inb4 the supreme court rules that congestion charging is unconstitutional and furthermore that public transport, too, is unconstitutional.

it’s all a big ploy to give the US bargaining chips when negotiating with the UK for trade agreements.

“well we’re going to tariff the shit out of you unless we can sell chlorine washed chickens in your country”

“oh also fuck your publicly owned railways and roads, you’ll sell them to us at a discount or you’ll be sorry.”

“by the way we’re still going to endorse and fund far right parties and destabilise your democracy - that’s just what allies do, right?”

I know they’re not as beautiful as some of the posts here, and my resource distribution needs a bit of work.

My challenge to myself was to build factories that are a complete solution and fit in the blueprint designer mk2. The idea is that each factory takes raw materials and produces a single high tier part (like turbo motors or radios). All the parts get fired into the dimensional uploader.

I can scale my part production by just building more of the kind of factory that I need. Currently I have two of each.
