I've used Organic maps (which I think uses OSM navigation) exclusively and it hasn't let me down yet. Especially when walking it knows a lot more routes than Google. One thing Google has going for it is it knows where there's a lot of traffic and routes around it, OSM doesn't have the data to do that.

Organic Maps also has an Android Auto version, though I don't have anything to try that.

Not even a DX? Do I at least get a 387 in the deal?

My tip is still fine, it's seen at least weekly use for the 4 years I've had the iron. I don't think spending 20 every 5 or so years is bad if it were to die soon

Not very annoying at all. Does a little jingle when it's turned on. Door unlocks when finished, no beeps. Instantly unlocks when paused too. Even can integrate into Home Assistant, but the manufacturer (Fuck you Haier) made it worse for no real reason.

Modern cartridge style heaters are definitely worth the extra price. I have a Pace ADS200 myself and it's great but a bit expensive.

I've heard good things about the Pinecil so definitely recommend that instead of any older style iron.

How so? It literally moves in 3 dimensions at the same time.

The rule is completely understandable, I don't think there are many programmable calculators with no storage. I still find it funny though.

I did try writing a solver based on the bisection method but didn't get it to work. I should probably try fixing it.

Fortunately our paper exams are only physics and electrical stuff in which the math isn't very involved. Our math exams are digital and we can use MATLAB.

It's the one on the left. We're allowed any calculator that's not programmable and cannot store text. The Elektronika can be programmed though it cannot store a program when turned off.

Nevermind the Casio's ability to solve, integrate, derivate, deal with complex numbers and matrices and more

I've had 2 Gerber Dimes they seem nice in theory but you can't use the pliers for pretty much anything without them breaking.

Gonna get a Victorinox as my next tool

There is vase mode, which lifts the Z axis gradually while printing. This creates one continuous extrusion for the whole print.

And the sequel, My Winter Car, coming this year, is promised to be even less fun!

I want the swimming trunks the guy on the left has

I have an older Sony amplifier I want to use for my computer, paired with some sort of speakers. While planning, I'm thinking: should I just use my motherboard's line out to the amp, or would I be better utilising the S/PDIF header on my mobo to get the audio digitally to the amp?

Fedora KDE, Wayland, Nvidia, proprietary drivers. Everything worked fine until suddenly plasmashell started crashing every time I interact with with the plasma panel. On x11 this doesn't happen, but instead the the whole video freezes while audio continues, and after a while it comes back. The plasma panel may or may not be frozen after this.

Is this an Nvidia problem again?

Logs coming in a couple minutes

Upgrades include:

  • Frame made of steel tube
  • E3D V6 clone and E3D titan clone
  • Noctua heatbreak fan
  • SKR Mini E3 V3 board
  • Raspberry Pi running Klipper
  • G10 build sheet
  • Bed insulation
  • ATX power supply
  • BLTouch

Probably missed a few in the list

The settings on KDE show this info about my computer after buying a used motherboard. Apparently it came from a prebuilt, though it is a standard ASUS board. Where does this branding come from and is it possible to remove it?

The branding also shows in inxi:

Machine: Type: Desktop System: PC Specialist product: Tornado R7S v: N/A serial: <superuser required> Mobo: ASUSTeK model: PRIME B450-PLUS v: Rev X.0x serial: <superuser required> part-nu: 1744753 UEFI: American Megatrends v: 4402 date: 12/13/2023

These are both 1988, a friend's Cadillac de Ville and my Trabant 601. The cars available in the USA and East Germany at the time were a bit different.
