It's not gate keeping. It's just as easy to get a scale as it is to get measuring cups. People should use the right tool for the job so they don't fuck up and lose their confidence to try again.

Fellow Pixel user here, this is what mine says,
"Hi, I'm a Google Virtual assistant recording this call for the person you're trying to reach. Before I try to connect you can I ask what you're calling about?"
