Nz being an ally of the US is a hold over from your imperialist colonialist past, nothing more. You've advanced beyond the US, as have a lot of nations. The only thing the US has over you is GDP, a stat not useful for much according to the inventor of GDP, and military spending.

Given what it uses that spending for I get why you'd be scared, being an island nation in the Pacific and all; but realistically they're not competent enough to invade you anymore. I mean they've lost every war they started since WWII.

Now now, liberals thought they did anything by banning guns and overall making it much more difficult to defend yourself.

Hopefully none of the above, besides your current pm you guys seem to be on an okay track. You're already decades ahead of the US in most development stats and you couldn't be more opposed to us ideology.

Every US citizen has fewer and less rights than you do, assuming you're in nz. They also have more prisoners per capita than every single authoritarian regime in history, including Nazi Germany during its peak Holocaust era. It's not a free country, it's authoritarian at its core.

Along with the hundreds of other black sites across the world where civilians were held and tortured without charge in the name of us national security.

And back to lgbtq, the group Dems actively hated on the federal level until scotus used a loophole to legalize gay marriage and it became profitable for companies to market to that demo. No, of course they don't deserve to die, but the smart ones already have a second citizenship and jumped ship in the Clinton era when Congress was debating whether to make sodomy a federal crime. The real smart ones are still in the closet given the US governments continued hostility towards minorities.

But for those either too brave for too stupid to meta game that deeply, I sincerely hope they head to Canada and try to catch a boat to the EU as soon as possible. But my advice for them hasn't changed in thirty years so maybe you aren't going to count that sincerely as you seem to think the US was ever safe for non white non cis non straight non men.

It's worked for all of human history and works today all over the world. If your family aren't monsters you've not only experienced it but actively participated in it and if you're not a sociopath you should be doing it right now with your neighbors given that's how neighborhoods function.

The same place they are now... They built e.g. Guantanamo or abu ghaib...
