For those that seek a future that brings together the best of the insights and objectives of people who, within the social democratic and democratic socialist traditions, have worked through farmer, labour, co-operative, feminist, human rights and environmental movements, and with First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, to build a more just, equal, and sustainable Canada within a global community dedicated to the same goals.

Every year, Canada loses up to $39 billion to corporations dodging taxes.

That's money that could:

  • Build thousands of affordable homes
  • Hire doctors and nurses
  • Upgrade our roads and transit systems
  • Create good-paying union jobs across the country
  • And so much more.

All parties want to help low-income folks. Here’s how much they do combining tax cut & transfer boost proposals. The NDP provides avg $653 a year per person in poverty. Bloc distant second at $260 and CPC and Libs basically nothing to those in poverty.

Anyone tied in with the BC NDP? I'm an export(I hate the term expat, doesn't apply to me, always be a Canadian regardless of where I live) currently in the UK. Elections.ca says the candidate registration deadline is the 7th, and details to be released 9th. But I'm a bit antsy to see who's running for my registered riding. It'd be nice to have a chance to look into who I'm going to be voting for. My main concern is that sometimes mail can take quite a while to get through to home from here, and I want to be able to send my ballot as early as possible so I'm positive that it will get to Ottawa before 6pm of the 28th.
As we all know this election has a lot potentially hanging on the outcome, and I want my say counted.

Thanks for any info or thoughts. ✊

69% of all Canadians think Poilievre needs a security clearance and even 44% of Conservatives. That’s maybe why there’s turmoil in his ranks…

From universal health care to dental care, the programs that make us proud to be Canadian wouldn't be possible without New Democrats in Parliament.

As Liberals shift to the right, now more than ever we need strong progressive left voices fighting for our country and all Canadians.

This is a screenshot of a Toronto Star article with the headline “Opinion: Why we still need a strong federal NDP” and quote: “Historically, the NDP has pushed for policies that prioritized those issues, influencing governments to adopt more progressive stances. Whether it’s health care, child care, or climate action, the party advocates for the well-being of everyday Canadians, even when it’s not politically convenient. What is the bigger threat—losing ground on the social programs that define us, or the chaos that is Trump? Can we afford to focus on one while ignoring the other? We can’t afford to pick one battle—our future depends on both.”. Underneath is a photo of Bhutila listening do a constituent during one of her town halls.

We have 25 days to talk to as many voters as we can.

Having a strong, progressive voice in Parliament is the only way to secure programs that work for PEOPLE.

If you agree, sign up for a phonebank and let’s do the work that gets New Democrats elected. 🔥

With Duverger's Law (i.e., in non-PR electoral systems, a trend towards a two-parties), we are running out of time to act. Canada's 2021 effective number of parties is 2.76 - this number will decrease over time, and will eventually end Canadian democracy as we know it today.

The only way to prevent this democratic backsliding is proportional representation: [email protected]

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is the first Canadian political leader to call for the U.S. president to be uninvited from a major summit of world leaders this summer in Canada.

"Why would we invite someone who threatens our sovereignty and economic well-being? Why would we invite someone who threatens the economic well-being of allies and threatens the world's stability? Why would we allow a convicted criminal into our country?" Singh said in a statement.

New Democrat MP Charlie Angus is calling on Elections Canada to launch an investigation into Elon Musk and his social media platform X, saying he is concerned about potential interference by the tech billionaire in the next federal election.

In a two-page letter to Chief Electoral Officer Stéphane Perrault, Angus said Musk has been playing a role in recent elections in a variety of countries, donating millions of dollars to conservative candidates and using X, formerly known as Twitter, to amplify the political messages of candidates he favours.

"He has formed alliances with right-wing populist leaders, amplified extremist influencers and spread hate disinformation towards marginal groups," Angus wrote.
