Another perfect game to play during the winter months is NiGHTS into Dreams, especially Frozen Bell.

@[email protected] First played this on Xbox Live, but it made me go back to the Saturn version as soon as I could afford it.

I didn't think I'd enjoy this game as much as I do to be honest.

While I'm glad that the game has been available on a lot more systems, nothing ever beat the Saturn version as the controls never felt as smooth in any of the ports as they did in the original 2 releases on the Saturn.
And it's not just because of the 3D controller either.
There's something a little messed up with how the ports don't really feel like they have 360 controls, but instead 8 way directional controls mapped to the analogue sticks.

Very weird.

@[email protected] I dunno if the PS2 remaster changed the controls to be that way, but they did remove a lot of content like the Sonic easter egg level and stuff; and then used that one for the Xbox Live, PSN and PC ports, so it could come from that.

I can't say I noticed it on the 360 version, but can't speak for the PC and PS2/3 ports though.

I plan on getting the Steam version since it has the HD and Saturn visual options, so I'll have to see if that one does it.

It can be rather subtle but if you’ve played NiGHTS as much as I have, it really jumps out at you and is rather jarring.
