@[email protected] I remember importing the Japanese version on Dreamcast only to find out the GameCube has a native PAL version. All that time waiting for a Japan exclusive version to arrive and I could've picked up a local copy on GameCube instead.

Still it's a stellar game, one of my favourite shmups, I double dipped with the PAL version on GameCube too after.

@[email protected] I remember being one pokémon away from completing the pokédex, only to find out Darkrai was confined to a limited time event that I'd JUST missed two days prior and would never be able to catch him again.

I love pokémon, but those limited event exclusives that were also necessary to complete the dex urk me to no end lmao.

Same with Emerald, the only pokémon I need to complete the dex on the save I started in the early 2000's is Mew which requires a Japan exclusive item...

@[email protected] The game was sent to the presses for review, but never actually released.

It's kinda sad considering it was basically complete and ready for release.

@[email protected] I still replay this one from time to time, sometimes just for the sake of it. I love this game so much, especially for the overall atmosphere.

Normally, such a slow paced slice of life-esque game wouldn't keep me for extended periods, but the characters, world, atmosphere and all the small details in this one won me over.

@[email protected] I've been investing in older PC games I used to own years ago.

Remember that big box of 100 game CDs from Megaware? You could also get the individual CDs in magazines to add to the collection too.

I'd looked all over the web for them, but nowhere had any info on them, even places like the internet archive, so I've made back-up installs of every one I've acquired so far. But the magazines you could find them in are basically lost media.

@[email protected] I dunno if the PS2 remaster changed the controls to be that way, but they did remove a lot of content like the Sonic easter egg level and stuff; and then used that one for the Xbox Live, PSN and PC ports, so it could come from that.

I can't say I noticed it on the 360 version, but can't speak for the PC and PS2/3 ports though.

I plan on getting the Steam version since it has the HD and Saturn visual options, so I'll have to see if that one does it.

@[email protected] First played this on Xbox Live, but it made me go back to the Saturn version as soon as I could afford it.

I didn't think I'd enjoy this game as much as I do to be honest.

@[email protected] I'm convinced it would've done better without SEGA of America's screwing up of the launch and the 32X.

I was honestly surprised that it has half the games of the PlayStation and over double the N64, the support was clearly there for it before they royally screwed things up.

Never owned one myself, we had a PlayStation, but I'd love to make games for it one day.

@[email protected] My fondest memory of this game was resetting every time I didn't get Pikachu as my player character lmao. The soundtrack was a bop.

@[email protected] True, the last time I found these style of games that were genuinely great were back in the days of Big Fish Games. The modern stuff doesn't quite hit the same, they feel more like those time waster pastime titles you'd find on facebook way back.

I miss Big Fish Games; when I think of Windows XP, they're the first thing that comes to mind.

@[email protected] The books for this were class👌, I can't imagine myself buying a game for it; but the book series I'd totally buy again if I see them.

I don't think the hidden object style of entertainment will ever hit as hard as it did with Where's Wally/Waldo or the Mortimer Beckett series' of games/books.

I actually never knew this series had a game, I'm tempted to find and try it purely out of curiosity.

@[email protected] This game didn't deserve such backlash for its visuals at the time, it holds up way better in that regard than many other games of its time.

I'm just glad it gets the love it deserves these days.
