@[email protected] I remember being one pokémon away from completing the pokédex, only to find out Darkrai was confined to a limited time event that I'd JUST missed two days prior and would never be able to catch him again.

I love pokémon, but those limited event exclusives that were also necessary to complete the dex urk me to no end lmao.

Same with Emerald, the only pokémon I need to complete the dex on the save I started in the early 2000's is Mew which requires a Japan exclusive item...

Oh, I can imagine!
That would bother me to no end.

I can see the appeal of doing such a thing as it adds a little something special to the whole "gotta catch em all" thing, but yeah, making it so limited has huge drawbacks as well.
