Von der Leyen Comission got a sales ban of fossil fuel cars, a carbon market without offsets for heating and transport, lowered emission permits on the existing carbon market(again no offsets), carbon tariffs on some products, the nature restoration law and a bunch of other positive laws. So in terms of empty promises von der Leyen is actually doing pretty well.
I wouldn't consider it doing pretty well, when we're exceeding the Paris agreement right now and they're still saying we're trying to keep it. Fossil car ban is far too late. Carbon certificates far too cheap.
But yes, she's not fully blocking anything. However, she's also the person to present for the conservative parties to keep up appearances, while at the same time these parties are ruining any climate ambition. But could also be, that she falls into the same category as the UN people. But why is she not publicly strongly disagreeing with her party or joining other parties?
But you don't understand! AI takes a lot of energy, so companies HAVE to miss all of their reduction goals! What if they miss out on money!
