I mean, they didn't really have to do that. It's already been done:

He did it respectfully and didn't change any of the words, even when he calls himself a girl.

edit: took out one of the bolds, she did receive a grammy.
Ok, but that doesn’t support the idea that people don’t like the song or more specifically her version.
She was nominated for song of the year and record of the year for fast car. She won the Grammy for best female pop performance, for that song.
We love her song so much she won a cma 35 years later.
This is a super false equivalence.
Except we're talking about country music specifically, not the general awards.
They also just don’t have to do that because it was already presumed—contemporary country fans, I should be clear. The type of people who listen to that type of music are generally angry young white guys who like drinking and are in college.
The country music space has been invaded by the right wing “patriot” crowd.
Always has been.
