As someone who had an arrest record that has since been expunged sometimes they won't even ask. They'll pull your background check, see the arrest record, and throw your application in the trash.

I feel you and I acknowledge that this DOES happen... but I work in post-incarcerial rehabilitation, and the people with minor charges or no charges are always better off than the people with felonies. Getting a job with a felony sucks. They do get jobs too though!

Oh yeah I should have clarified that I'm not saying they're on the same level just that it does still have a negative impact.
