im pretty new to this whole fediverse thing, however i did manage to set up a matrix/element server on AWS to kind of just test things out. originally did it incase we needed more private conversations related to the ice map. ive never really done much organization, mostly direct action with autonomous anarchist groups etc, and that was well before we all had phones in our hands. constant question for me is how to maintain personal information protection. training and methods for on boarding etc...how and when to use onion router, how to maintain private and secure decentralization of servers and the users that use them...stuff like that. but my main focus these days is another project ive been working on based on regenerative agriculture and education, circular economy through block chain, gamification for added utility, and DAO style model for resource allocation / crowdfunding. tied all together to create an ecosystem that allows easy participation, reward, and utility, to promote more direct action in the creation of a different model of sustainable community and individual action. a life boat, if you will.

You kinda lost me at the blockchain. Otherwise it reads good. Also, you REALLY want to get off of the service from trumps new second or third best friend. There are hundreds of hosting services. AWS is by far the worst idea besides maybe google or meta hosting if that exists.

Next to the fascists, we also need to be aware of oligarchs and tech bros. Yes, gamification helps but that's cutting it very close to these buffoons.

Let's try and start at the current status quo. The non corporate (sorry bluesky) fediverse. We have mastodon, Lemmy, matrix, pixelfed, xmpp, etc. We need to add to the polish of those and bring more services to federation (buying and selling, work, dating, voting, etc). This may in fact make us independent bit by bit.

Feel free to add to this.
