I've always played fighting games casually with friends and cousins (sf2, mvc2, smash, samurai showdown, sf4) and have watched a fair bit of tournament play without fully understanding the games.
I got into sf6 last year and have really been trying to learn the game "correctly''. I haven't made the push to master and am still bad at the game, but I'm having a lot of fun.
I found a weekly local tournament near me and I'm planning to go sometime soon! I'm obviously gonna get my ass handed to me, but looking forward to it.
Very similar to me!
I was casually into SFV, made it to gold in ranked with Zeku, but never really took it seriously. Played lots of very casual 2/alpha/MvC for many years.
Have put some actual time into SF6 and am climbing through diamond now, and have made appearances at a couple of locals where I did terribly, but it was a lot of fun.
I feel like Master is attainable, and I hope to reach it before phase 7 ends.
Made it to master today! Hope your push has been going well too. Add me (same username) if you'd like to run some sets!
Was diamond 1 when I made this original post, currently diamond 2. Progress has slowed somewhat, but I know the areas I need to work on to tighten things up.
Been tracking my progress in a spreadsheet.
One moment that sucked was quitting mid-match to answer a knock at the front door and ate a >100LP disconnect penalty for it. In hindsight I should've just AFK'd and let the guy take my 40 instead. It was a goddamn door-to-door ISP sales agent.
I'll add you next time I'm on and maybe I'll see you around. I'm in a bit of a weird timezone though.
edit: I can't find you on the buckler site by any of "aight_passing", "aight passing", or "kajib". What's your CFN ID?
edit the second: Found you with a hyphen.
