it makes me sad that some neurodivergent people i know bully other neurodivergent people and call them “the weird kids”. (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

these people i know complain that they barely have any friends and that they’re considered “the weird kids” yet bully other neurodivergent people for that reason.

as someone with autism + adhd, this just makes me so sad.

It's called internalised and lateral ableism (or any kind of oppression, as has already been mentioned, these apply across the marginalisation board), and we're all guilty of it to one degree or another by simple virtue of existing and being socialised in an ableist society (in the same way all abled people are).
