sh.itjust.works Community Request
A place to request abandoned, inactive, or banned communities on sh.itjust.works. If there is a community you'd like to take over please make a post linking to the community and explaining what you plan on doing with it.
Guidelines:
To make a request please create a post with the link to the community you'd like to request in the link field.
Try and make the post titled something short and descriptive i.e. requesting c/communityname .
In the post body write a short description about what you plan on doing with the community, failure to do so may result in the request being denied, though we won't outright deny you for it, as long as you tell us when/if we ask.
Rules:

Only communities local to sh.itjust.works are eligible for requests, we cannot grant requests on external communities.

Do not request active communities or communities with active moderators.

Be patient and respectful, this is a place to request communities, not demand them. Rude behavior may result in your request being denied.

It is recommended to only use this service if you have a account on sh.itjust.works, if you don't we will not be able to transfer ownership of the community to you.

I thought it was pretty dedicated satire, and as a fulltime Linux user I enjoyed it.
I'm requesting OP not be given moderatorship of c/linuxsucks but I also request unbanning u/madthumbs.

It wasn't satire, the dude just has a hate boner for Linux.
Some of it was brain dead, some of it was undeniable relatable. Either way I was somewhat impressed with madthumbs dedication to poop on a community developed OS. I use arch btw
Eh, IMO 1 in 100 of their posts actually having any still-relevant point is being generous. Even then those are probably about userspace problems (or more cutesy stuff like "here's the cake, you gotta make it!").
[email protected] gives more context (also them locking every post). Seeing their actual comments, how frequently they posted, and their moderation actions makes me think unwell-at-best rather than any form of satire.
Really reminds me of some guy years ago who was anti-FOSS and said Godot was demonic and communist (they made long rant videos on Youtube that are now gone). Specifically that both seem to be at least partial/reluctant users.
This. It also looks like they lost moderatorship (is this a real word?!) over c/linux_vs_windows on world bc they "certainly can’t take criticism" according to the new mod.
I wish Godot was a more satanic and communist software tho... ><
It is certainly dedication; the second mod u/Uschteinheim is looking a lot like a sock puppet and they posted a lot, but the satire part really doesn't work imo, it's always the same bland posts about FLOSS while blocking any even mildly contrary opinion.
I'm all for unbanning them on SJW, but I also would like to troll and frustrate them by taking the c/linuxsucks name away from them!
I would rather not get in the habit of enabling reverse-trolling. That feels like a slippery slope.
I don't get the linuxsucks humor, and I don't know why madthumbs moved over here from .world, but if they want to run a satire community then I think that's okay. I'm going to unban them for now.
That's understandable. Indeed, I made the requested in the first place specifically because madthumbs got banned, but I'm all for unbanning them.
If their annoying behavior have them banned again in the future, I stay available to take over mod for the linuxsucks page!
