Everyone assumed progressives weren't that impossibly stupid.
Just like we assumed conservatives could never be stupid enough to elect somebody as crazy as Trump.
Horseshoe theory wins again!
You don't even know what you're talking about, that's how childish you are, you think everyone who doesn't agree with everything you believe in are fascists.
Remember how after all of Stalin's purges and Hitler's Nazis being killed, we had 50 years of peace?
I suspect it's because all the assholes who don't let people have peace were dead.
I look forward to the 2050s through to the 2010s, when all you fuckers are out of everyone else's misery :)
Are you one of those 'progressives voted 3rd party or abstained' people, or are you a 'progressives killed momentum and caused normies to stay home' people? Because how I address you next really depends on where you land on the 'blame progressives' scale
Libs are desperate to believe that the actually-real conditions in the US are fine, if not great - and everyone flocking to the right and left of them is just because they're being propagandized by foreign adversaries and not due to any real systemic issue.
I guess I'd just float the possibility that maybe the reason populism is on the rise is because capitalist democracy is failing, and a growing majority of people have lost faith that democratic reform is possible at all. Democrats continually insisting that there is no actual crisis and we just need to calm down and return to a status-quo (or constantly telling us now is not the time for reform) is contributing to this voter apathy, even while they're screaming about the dangers of fascism (as absolutely real as they are).
No, I believe the people conducting genocide and throwing protestors in labor camps are fascists, and the white moderates in the 'opposition' party who feign outrage but can't be bothered to lift a finger to stop it are collaborators. I don't even think democrats need to adopt economic populist positions to win, really - they could start adopting the reactionary positions on the populist right, too, and maybe stand a chance (though it would be hard to out-reactionary Trump). The middle is just a hollowed out husk tho - if they stay there they'll never win again
Libs try beating the fascist collaborator accusations challenge, impossible
Both.
Conditions aren't great, but they're getting vastly worse under Trump, again.
You're just accelerationisting, which lead to Hitler taking power and sending all the accelerationists to camps, which is exactly what's happening now.
I escaped the vile filth of the south, and when the scum infected the rest of the country I escaped the country itself.
I get to watch America consume itself from afar.
You have self-righteousness that you were morally correct while people dared disagree with you.
I have the self-righteousness of watching the country burn from afar.
Let's see who wins in the end :)
I'm not advocating for voting against dems, i'm saying the democrats cannot win in the current political environment by being moderate. That has always been the message, but democrats insisted that they could win if they abandoned progressive causes. It's the same thing that has happened in every fascist uprising - the moderate party could no longer hold a majority because the majority of the country had fled the center.
It's not a sense of moral righteousness that you're seeing, it's indignation that liberals - who claimed to believe in the same things as their progressive base but refused to act on them - lost us the election because they'd rather continue collaborating with fascists and preserve a method of governance that caused our current situation than have to reckon with a base that was pleading them to do something substantial.
Democrats chose to say 'fuck off' to their base, and now their sycophants are really out there in the comments trying to blame everyone else
