You'd figure 4channers would lap up the idea of federation, oh well.
They broadly arent really very techy and absolutely hate the idea of anything new. So nah they broadly hate federation and adopting any new platforms.
Especially given that the fediverse already has a culture of being actively anti racism and hate they wouldnt be able to move here without getting instantly defederated and they know this. I'm sure the leftypol commies are already here.
I think also the fediverse tends to lend itself to brainrot formats of social media: mastodon (Twitter), lemmy (Reddit), pixelfed (Instagram/tiktok), matrix (Discord). The fediverse is just trying to mimic the worst examples of the internet while 4chan is perfectly fine being its 2004 self
It doesnt really offer anything over the current 4chan experience
Self-governance and community-control means jack shit to you?
Not in the context of an 4chan. Moderation is already very light there
Lemmy does feel more and more like 4chan every day...
Sometimes with the Pro-Russia takes I see I have to wonder Lemmy or 4chan
Not for me
Oh no
Oh yes (satire) (a little) (I may be stupid)
We can want healthier social media.
Put another way: Not every platform…
