Fucking it up is part of their overall strategy. They destroy the economy for short term gains, then point to those gains as evidence that their policies work. They defund and break parts of the government that they don't want and then point to those failures that the government doesn't work. There are literally hundreds of examples I could give where destruction serves their agenda.
Ya, the conservatives up in Canada have taken a page right out of their playbook. They keep slashing budgets to healthcare, then say that it's not working and we should privatize it. (See Ontario and Alberta, but others are following suit.)
