This article feels like they were trying to extend word count by adding fluff

even failed to identify 41 per cent of its Palestinian speakers by name—while identifying the vast majority of Israeli speakers with their names as well as family relationships and personal connections to violence they’ve experienced.

This is bad, I’m sure they will expand on it…no they follow up to say there’s been more Israeli speakers…which like obviously there would be when they make up a larger share of our population

including Israeli politicians, military officials, and the relatives of people killed or taken hostage by Hamas—have appeared on the broadcasts.

The split is 60/40 which since we’re including politicians it should be higher again because Hamas leadership isn’t in any position to be appearing on tv. (Never mind that it’s a terrorist group and Israel is officially our ally) Also if ctv somehow got an interview with them is the writer trying to suggest that Israel wouldn’t kill them?

What double standard? They don’t expand on it at all and if it’s in another article then why isn’t it linked?

Despite the higher number of Israeli guests, more Palestinians—34 versus only 25 Israelis—were presented without any information about who they are, including their names. In one notable example, CTV’s Oct. 14 broadcast gave more time to a Canadian who experienced cancelled flights than to the only Palestinian interviewed in Gaza.

Stick to this

CTV’s broadcasts on Oct. 8 and Oct. 30 indulged this same racist language, airing video of Israeli officials describing Hamas’ “savagery” and “barbarism” without providing context about Israel’s ongoing occupation of Gaza. CTV anchor Sandie Rinaldo also used the word “savage” on Oct. 12 to describe Hamas’ attack.

This is way better, and it makes me wonder why even fluff out the intro piece when you can lead with this

On an earlier broadcast, anchor Heather Wright failed to interject when a retired Canadian general made the same claim.

Also way better than comparing the number of guests

CTV’s overrepresentation of Israelis is wildly out of sync with the disproportionate suffering of Palestinians.

The IDF official also said on Oct. 14 that Hamas is responsible for poverty in Gaza without pushback. Gaza’s economy has been increasingly crippled since Israel and Egypt started a blockade on goods and people moving in and out of the territory in 2005.

Those don’t have to be exclusive but the writer doesn’t tie CTV into it at all

Last section is fine

I hate how I feel like I’m constantly defending Israel’s (and now CTV) because the other people on Palestine’s side are too stupid to argue in good faith
