I want to get some camping trips in this summer. I've been thinking of making a trip to La Mauricie in three weeks (so early July), but I'm concerned about bugs.. the last time I camped in early July in Ontario (Algonquin Park) it was absolutely miserable.

How bad will the mosquitoes be around this time? Any sense of how it compares to Algonquin? Thanks!

Je veux faire du camping cet été. Je pensais faire un voyage en Mauricie dans trois semaines (donc début de juillet), mais je crains des insectes.. la dernière fois que j'ai campé en début de juillet en Ontario (Parc Algonquin) c'était absolument misérable.

I was just in Zec Lavigne (a few kilometers south-west) this weekend and it was terrible.

saw more mosquitoes and horse flies in 3 days than I have in my entire life

But bring bug spray and a net to put over your head and it's gonna be manageable!

Thanks for the intel - hope you are able to get some better camping trips in the future! Gonna have to strategize about the bugs. 👀
