3DS is retro now. I am finally a boomer.

Retro as in retro gaming I assume. It's good for emulation and you can comfortably play DS games on it too.

put it this way, it's the new nintendo 3ds. it can't ever be retro; it's the new version

It’s in quotes in the title. And the second is a hardware emulator. They’re all for emulation.
