I'm trying to join a community from another server (https://sopuli.xyz) from my server (https://feddit.ro), but the search can't seem to find it. It does, however, find other communities from sopuli, as well as communities from other servers. Why could this be the case?

At least in 0.17 apparently searching by full URL (https://whatever) instead of just community name was required for cases where the community was very new and/or your instance hadn’t had any previous interaction with the host instance.

Try search by URL, using the full URL.

Weird. I tried it myself and see the same as you. Ask your local admin I guess.

I did and just got a response. They said it might be a Lemmy bug with newly federated instances. They will submit an issue if they figure out what the actual issue is. Also that a restart from sopuli's side should fix the issue.
