I've been thinking about banning those "aww" posts for some time. You know those posts flared with "aww" on r/autism? I like those posts, but they unnecessarily clutter up the subreddit; and I think I would prefer this community to be a more serious discussion platform.

Also I'm going to change a term in rule 1: 'related' to 'relevant'. Relevancy is a more definition to my idea of rule 1.

I think you're better off playing it by ear for the time being, and sort of adjusting the rules accordingly as this space grows.

Personally, I'd really like this place to foster serious discussions more than image/meme posts.

I'm in agreement and I would like some serious discussion here.

For me the main thing I really am itching to discuss is...

For many of us, we're terrified of telling anyone that we're autistic. Personally, I know it would just screw me over in just about any context.

I'm BIPOC and my psychologist is BIPOC too-- she straight up told me to be extremely careful with who I talk to, in terms of saying that I am autistic. Told me not to mention it to police, nor to fill it out on any official paperwork because she's convinced that it will just create massive problems for me in the end because she's seen in happen in the past to clients.

I have heard of this event happening to some people (primarily the U.S) and I also hate it; capitalist societies force people to hide a part of themselves so that they can conform and be a cog.

Autistics should not have to worsen themselves to live; but this is the result of wage labor: it's impossible to keep yourself alive, because wage labor prevents it.

I hope there's better luck in other countries.
