Any up to date guide on how to create a torrent? (lemmy.ml)

Tried creating a torrent and it wouldn't download on another computer even though it said it was seeding on another device. All the guides I looked at on creating a torrent are mostly outdated. I'm using qbittorrent if that helps at all?

Did you make sure ports are open for torrent?

I'm a little confused with this I'm using a VPN to seed the torrent I created and this article https://www.how2shout.com/how-to/how-to-create-torrents-using-qbittorrent-client.html says that I don't need to have the ports open?

Is there anyway to seed my torrent usign a VPN?

Did you include some public tracker(s) to make is easier to find peers, instead of just relying on DHT?

Yes I did included some public trackers. When I try to download the torrent it is stuck at 0% even though I'm seeding on the other device.
