I have a Bose Companion 3 that I use as TV speakers. I recently bought a new TV with only optical output/input for sound. The Bose uses analog input, so I bought a DAC to convert the digital to analag sound. It works and the sound is the same as it was before.

The problem is adjusting the volume. The remote doesn't work with this setup, so i have to get up every time to adjust the sound on the Bose itself.

I used to use a receiver when I had a projector, but I was wondering if I might replace the DAC with the receiver and then be able to adjust he volume with the remote?
