Hey guys,
I'm new here so I'm sorry if this isn't kosher, but I just recently moved into a house with an odd living room layout (see picture diagram). I am looking to expand the current 2.1 system I have right now to 3.1 or 5.1 (or more if it seems possible).
Current setup: 2x Hand-me-down Mitsubishi SS-4100 and a RSL Speedwoofer 10S MKII connected to an Onkyo TX-NR7100 and LG C3 OLED TV
My issue currently is finding a center-channel speaker that goes well with these L/R channel speakers that I can't find much info about online that's more than the sticker on the back (picture attached), as I've been reading you want a center that's similar to your existing setup, and where I can place any surround speakers I want to expand into. A side-left channel I can mount onto the wall and work with, but find a good place for the side-right speaker is more of a challenge given that I have a recliner to work around as well. The furniture itself in the house is nowhere finalized but the placements for the most part are.
For the side right surround, would ceiling mounting the speaker and pointing down to the couch be acceptable if the side left surround is lower mounted?
I am currently looking into getting an SVS Prime Center Speaker to start with and expand from here, but I am unsure if there will be too much contrast with the Mitsubishi speakers I've been given.
