So, how many years will it be before Tay-Tay returns to swoop up some more millions?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Maybe her and the fam are gonna stick around for a bit.

The same number of years since her last tour? Better start saving.

So... I'm having a problem between my apartment's building manager/strata and removalist that helped me move in. Building manager says removalist did some damage (has CCTV footage of removalist doing something to the entrance door) and is charging me for the damage. I wanted to get it charged to the removalist but (of course) removalist is denying that whatever they did would cause any damage and refusing to claim their insurance for the invoice. Does anyone know who I can bring the issue to and what actions I should take?

No experience with this or the law sorry but have you tried Fair Trading?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

My partner and I are looking into Fair Trading, but haven’t contacted yet. Crappy timing we’re just about to go on holiday and the invoice and emails all just arrived in the past few days.

Playing a game of catch and release with the house roaches. So far I've got four. Two big ones and two little ones. I know there's at least another couple smaller ones around. Not usually up this late and didn't realise we had so many flatmates.

I caught another little one before heading to bed. As I went to throw it out the window there was another big one splayed out and jiggling around on the ground like it was in a trance.

@maniacalmanicmania The joys of Sydney!

Do you know how they're getting in?

Also, getting in the habit of wiping down all kitchen surfaces and taking the rubbish out every night can help.

Probably because we have our windows open all the time with no screens and have a lot of indoor plants plants for them to take refuge in.

We keep a clean house. There's not so many that we need to bait them but enough of them that it's time for me to go plant to plant to catch them all.

@maniacalmanicmania Open windows is just asking for them to come in!

You definitely want those fly wire screens if you're keeping your windows open overnight (and there are workarounds if you're renting).

Stay cool out there folks.

@maniacalmanicmania @sydbot Plans for today include staying parked under air-con where possible, and eating all the ice cream.

Fan on max, lots of water in the fridge, plenty of ice in the freezer here. Best I can do.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@maniacalmanicmania Definitely a sitting in front of the fan in bra and undies with a wet towel kinda day...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Stepped out for lunch. Not so bad out.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@maniacalmanicmania Mid-afternoon is usually when it's at its worst.

If you need any errands, now's the time to do it...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@maniacalmanicmania Just stepped out now and it's noticeably worse...

Ah well. We'll miss it during Winter

I'm definitely in the "I'd rather sweat than be cold" camp!

Recipe says "4 x Cadbury Flake 40g"

Imagine my shock when I see the Cadbury Flakes are 30g and $2.50 each.

Jokes on them, I bought the 12x mini bars 168g for 1/2 price $3 at Woolies.
