I was the kind of intelligence soldier who ran around the battlefield taking notes and reporting information. Not nearly that simple, but I can't begin to tell you how many lives a high quality pen saved. There aren't exactly stationary stores in the desert when you need to write down some grid coordinates on a sweaty hand.

I have about a half dozen of these, but I’ve carried the same exact one into the field daily for a year and a half without losing it. It fills out my daily inspection and goes in my pocket. Vital.
I used Fisher space pens partly because of their function and my job and partly because I'm a space nerd (Intel soldiers for the win). I think I used the rite in the rain writing pads though. A normal notepad in my pocket would get soaked through with sweat and be useless. Hell I would sweat through my body armor. The tools I used to be effective were the wartime stationary supplies and essentially advanced email.
My watch never comes off except when it's charging, I don't think of it as a carry item. But sice we are:
- Garmin Fenix 5s Sapphire edition
- Pixel 7 phone
- Jabra Elite 7 Active headphones
- Glasses / Sunnies (wearing one, case for the other)
- Keys (I have a Lacie iamakey 32gb USB and a Swiss Tech Utilikey ony keyring)
That's all I have daily. On work days, I'll also have my wallet (i-clip) and iPad mini on me.
I mean. I carry it every day with my wrist? More accurately, I just think it’s neat and wanted to show it off. I’m a big fan of the Elite 7 actives, that’s another edc item not shown.
So, it was 1:16am when I responded earlier, I was headed to bed and didn't really get the culture of the community I was in. I still don't, really.
I don't understand what counts as an Everyday Carry item and what doesn't. Nobody is posting their phones, but I assume everyone carries one every day. When I'm leaving the house and gathering the things, I don't consider the things I'm already wearing as things I need to carry. I don't "carry" my watch any more than I "carry" my underwear. Those things are just worn.
I love that you love your watch, but I fear I'm the wrong target audience for watch admiration. Sorry. :(
You’re thinking way too hard about it. Relax. This is my post. I didn’t send it to you like a direct message, and if you don’t like the content of my post just downvote it and casually stroll along.
I didn’t post my phone in the picture because, well, I was using it to take the picture. If you don’t want to post your watch, cool! Don’t! I wanted to post mine and I don’t really care if you’re entertained by it or not. Your post doesn’t have to be rigidly comprehensive, and if you consider your watch, or a tampon or ponytail holder or literally anything else you carry part of your edc, post it or don’t at your own discretion! It’s quite simple really. Are you okay?
