This is exactly what they do to social movements that threaten their bottom line.
Social media has put a new spin on keeping up with the Joneses.
Exposure to glorified lifestyles online has left many people, especially young adults, feeling financially inadequate, even if they’re doing relatively well, reports show.
This is a complete mockery of what dysphoria means to people . They know exactly what they're doing by watering down and purposefully misusing "dysphoria" to mean "oh you're actually doing great why are you so sad?" It's sadistic.

Dysphoria would be a more apt description, because it's just a profound state of unease or distress that could be related to anything. Dysmorphia, like this dumb article uses, specifically refers to dissatisfaction with the shape of one's body

Honestly probably a majority of people do, but it's only for a much smaller subset that it becomes clinically relevant, meaning it significantly impacts someone's functioning in other areas of life
You're talking specifically about body dysmorphia. Other things can be dysmorphic, it basically just means malformed
I'm hard pressed to find any definition or use of the word "dysmorphia" that isn't directly related to perception of one's body. The word "dysmorphic" could be used to describe a malformed body part regardless of how the person feels about it, but malformed is a much more common way to describe that. "Dysmorphia" though seems to only describe an internal experience related to the perception of one's body

Um dysphoria refers to feeling uneasy, sad, upset, like something is wrong. It's used in Clinical documentation. "Pt presented with dysphoric mood and tearful affect as she described the events." Translation, girl was crying in my chair bout last week
Yeah the spin is bullshit but this is expected in an economy with massive inequality. As the scraps left over by the elite shrink, you can be doing relatively well compared to most others, but still living on the edge.
