You know you can get signs that say "Community Garden" printed on UV resistant plastic. You can just mount them wherever you want.
Iirc it'll be less of a crime if you explicitly don't say that. On the other hand wearing a hi viz vest with a clipboard would usually detter people from bothering you.
If they bother you to start complaining, and finish by "do it yourself" and by pushing the clipboard in their arm and leaving.

Someone's definitely going to look into it if you show up on their property and start harvesting all their food.
You don't harvest someone else's food silly, you find an abandoned or secluded plot that no one's using and plant your own food crops there
