I love the project but I have a lot of concerns about this interface.
- When recording there should be a "retry" button. Now you need to end, then manually go back and re-record the last one. I seems like stumbling would be a common experience.
- How should I try to read? Slow and very enunciated? Well enunciated like an announcer or actor? Or as I normally speak?
- When reviewing what I am looking for? That I understand it as the words that were said? That it was clear? That it was at a regular pace without awkward pauses?
One thing I will give great credit for is having contributors in some pretty uncommon languages. Breton's got a couple of hours for example, despite it having less than 0.2 million speakers and not being recognised by companies such as Google.
It's got a bit of a problem regarding gender imbalance but accents aren't that bad to be honest.
the concerns people expressed are totally valid, but i would much rather have mozilla maintain an advanced ML voice library than, say, google or facebook

Also your voice will be stored eternally on the cloud. Do you want that ? hmm
If I willingly do it and it's for helping a good project: yes, of course. Moreover, your voice isn't linked to you, and if you want you can do it through tor
That will still record your unique voice mate ..
It's a recording of your voice, whether doing it via TOR or not. It's also licenced under CC0 so anybody could use it to be clear, not just FLOSS projects or ethical ones.
