The Debian Publicity Team will no longer post on X/Twitter. We took this decision since we feel X doesn't reflect Debian shared values as stated in our social contract, code of conduct and diversity statement. X evolved into a place where people we care about don't feel safe. You are very much invited to follow us on https://bits.debian.org/ , on https://micronews.debian.org/ , or any media as listed on https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/Publicity/otherSN

Debian user here, happy to be running such a low-maintenance OS. Thanks for making me laugh out loud.

This got an audible chuckle out of me.

Please use this easy flow chart if you want to know if you should use X in any way or form:

Are you a Nazi? -> YES -> Use X -> NO -> Do not use X

Flowchart? All I see is “NO - Do not use X”

I wonder if it would be more effective to drive traffic away from xitter by instead posting partial text, followed by a segment that says "continued on [insert other social media post] here".

That'd be like expecting Lemmy users to actually click the link and not just comment.

Nah, that's still engagement. Ignore it, and let it rot away
