Very nice. I have a similar project languishing on my poor, ignored workbench. You may have inspired me to change that. Good typing to you!

Looks sick! But .. why are the z and the y switched?

It‘s a Germany layout.

  1. "I like Box Whites. They're like this delightfully gentle and quiet tactile switch," he typed from his keyboard full of Box Navies on an aluminum plate.
  2. Check out [email protected], which is the only other active keyboard comm on Lemmy that I know of.
  3. If I were to dabble in ergo mechs again, I think the 58-key to 60-key splits would be about my speed.
  4. People have varying opinions about clones (for me, I feel for creators whose novelties get copied, but it is what it is with colorways), and you can get virtually any GMK or SP set cloned in XDA, so XDA ends up underrated as a typing experience.
  5. Welcome!

Do you wear those angel wings wherever you go?

Just for work. ;)

Something for the keyboard designer to consider: Using a couple of esp32 wrooms would be cheaper and it would provide bluetooth.

OP, what are the knobs for? Are they for vertical and horizontal scroll? Or are they for an x&y axis knob cursor? Those are super interesting!

I use them instead of arrow keys and you can also click them. The left one has a macro for standard Mail greetings and the right one is +/*. Everything is freely programmable in Vial.

How do you produce F-key presses (F1, F2, etc)? I assume you can do so as a combo with a modifier key.

Yes, they are on another layer. If you don’t know: You can think of layers as additional shift key but instead of capital letters, you can get a completely different layout. F1 keys appear on the number keys in the upper layer.

Sofle RBG is also my daily driver. Such a great keeb. I went nuts and fully customized my case and software. I also run box whites, box mute jades, and chosfox arctic foxes. The arctics are my absolute favorite switch. SO tactile and clicky!

Are you using layers or just key combos?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Three layers.
