First they came for the T in LGBT -- and I did not speak up, because I was not transgender.
LGBTQ+
A safe space for GSRM (Gender, Sexual, and Romantic Minority) folk to discuss their lives, issues, interests, and passions. LGBT is still a popular term used to discuss gender and sexual minorities, but all GSRM are welcome beyond lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people who consent to participate in a safe space
I doubt these people are actually part of the community. Someone else posted a link in another thread explaining that this is a strategy of the far right to splinter LBGTQ solidarity. For example, the recent move by the Trump administration to remove transgender people from Stonewall history.
"Divide and conquer"
I think a great deal of those people are straight or internalized homophobia + transphobia
I'm sure some large percentage are bots, and another percentage are trolls.
probably a troll that I saw, twitter bio that said “she/her | proud terf | 18”
and she was also dropping trans peoples’ usernames for people to harass said users?
All the popular LGBTQIA+ accounts that I follow on social networks are posting stuff like "no LGB without the T". Until now, the community is united. Even if people are afraid of being vocal for the trans rights, nobody would actively support what's happening.
If you see transphobic accounts pretending to be LGB, you can be pretty sure they're fake
Historically that hasn't always been the case that the community was united. There were a lot of gay men that were sexist and transphobic after all "platinum homosexuality", meaning a man birn by c-section so they have never seen or touched a vagina, doesn't come from people who aren't misogynistic.
There are absolutely transphobic people in the community and its the job of the non-transphobes to fix that.
