The gloom gives much more spawns, I had a game last night where all four of us had over 500 kills on level 7. I love it.

Completed two lvl 7 operations with a duo squad. My squadmate had to carry my dead weight around.

Yes. Drives me nuts. Level 4 is way harder than level 4 anywhere else. I normally do 7's on other maps.
Also, I already disliked how low visibility the whole game was before this! I do not care for this.
I don't mind them if it's just one to four planets, but yeah, they are very different than normal missions.
Weird. Tbh, no. We played a full cycle on difficulty 8 last night, and, while the new bugs presented reasonable challenge, raw numbers wasn't it at all. Tbh, kill count was lower than usual.
Huh, maybe we just got a weird RNG for all three missions. They felt like 8-9s, in terms of difficulty. It was fun, but eye-popping for a 7, lol.
Yeah this is definitely the case.
Plus the gloom hides all radar signatures & they're hidden until they skitter on top of you, the it's too late.
Last mission there were 4 separate bug holes that never closed on while we were trying to raise the flag....it was absolutely ridiculous at lvl 7.

My group played some level 7 missions last night and experienced the same thing. High number of bugs, especially heavies like titans and chargers.
My squad and I had a blast on level 8. The new bugs are scary especially with higher numbers but we didn't encounter any frustration. We do generally try to run from breaches rather than make a stand. Our kill counts were very elevated like you mentioned.
