A community to satirize conservtive and right-wing "ideals".

This community (now) exists as a pressure valve, a place to process through humor the often frustrating world of conservative politics. Above all, this is NOT the place for serious conservative support/viewpoints/arguments. There are other places on Lemmy for that if you desire it.

Rules:

  1. Always follow .world instance rules

  2. Parody With Purpose: This is a space for humorous takes on conservative politics. We welcome satire, but draw the line at content that promotes racism, sexism, homophobia, or other forms of bigotry.

  3. Memes Over Manifestos: This community focuses on humor and parody, not serious political debate. There are plenty of spaces for earnest conservative discussion, this isn’t one of them.

  4. Highlight Contradictions: Sometimes the best content points out inconsistencies and hypocrisies in conservative talking points. Creative commentary is encouraged.

  5. Public Figures Fair Game: Politicians and pundits can be satirized, but no targeting of private individuals, doxxing, or harassment.

Children of public figures under the age of 14 are also off-limits, a 16 year old has enough free agency to break with or adopt their parents views. An 8 year old kid doesn't.

  1. No News Zone: Memes only, news or other serious content should be sent to the nearest relevant comm. Meme's of current events, however, are encouraged.

  2. Clear Satire: Make your satirical intent reasonably clear. We’re here to mock bad ideas, not accidentally spread them. If you're unsure how it will be taken, feel free to DM the mod team ahead of time or explicitly tag it as satire in the body.

A note on ChadMcTruth: Chad's content is 100% satire, but his work can sometimes be hard to tell, but if he posted it be assured, its satire.

  1. Relevant Content: All posts should relate to conservative politics or ideologies in some way somewhere in your post. Either in the title or the meme itself.

For more general political memes please see [email protected]

  1. Community Respect: Disagree with fellow members all you want, but personal attacks aren’t welcome. Save the criticism for the ideas, not each other.

  2. Moderation Discretion: Mods will use reasonable judgment in applying these rules. We’ll be fair, but firm. These kinds of comms have a tendency to get off the rails, so we might seem overzealous in moderation sometimes.

  3. For the moment, i'm allowing properly tagged NSFW content as long as its funny and relevant. Don't make me regret it.

And above all, HAVE FUN!

He should've laid more eggs.

Buttery males.

They won't care that Trump hasn't done anything to fix the price of eggs, because they're too busy being reeled along by whatever the next thing is that right-wing media is telling them to be angry about.

It's the Archer method of drinking, but for societal awareness - keep the people fighting over pointless stuff and they'll never have time to reflect on the things they should be angry about.

I overheard some incel during a dinner recently who was bragging about all the waste Elon was cutting. That's their narrative, I guess.

It made me think of an anorexic person bragging about how little food they need. Except this guy was enormously fat...

Now do the same but add Elmo and change it to "we did that". One more rub on his biggly ego.

No. They’ll wait for Shapiro or Beck or Fox to tell them why and then repeat that statement to death without fact checking it.

What I’d like to know is where to find this image and possibly one of Elon as well. Asking for a friend.

It really needs to say, "I did that!"

I'm in Europe and pay nearly €4 for 6 grade 0 eggs, have done for ages. These say free range, so I guess equivalent to grade 1? This is obviously slightly more expensive but not by crazy amounts - were eggs there that much cheaper before?

In the US, back in 2023, a dozen eggs at Aldi cost $1.35. Before all the bird flu/inflation/corporate greed I would frequently see them for .79 a dozen.

When I was there 2 weeks ago they were going for $5.65

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

.79 a dozen sounds mad, that's gotta be battery hens :/

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Yep, that jives with my experience too (southeastern US).

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

That's insane. Sounds like your egg prices were being artificially kept low.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Nope, we just have an abundance of eggs. Plus the fed buys a large amount for vaccines(now that trumps in power. I doubt that's still happening)

They would crowd them in cages and pump them full of antibiotics so they wouldn't get sick. When there's a disease that the medicine doesn't fix, they need to kill the herds and rebuild... which leaves us where we are now.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Ahhh that explains it. The vast majority of eggs in the UK are free range, where hens have to have access to outside space.

I think you can get caged eggs still, so they'd be much cheaper.

Am in Europe, that's expensive as hell for eggs.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

3.49€ for 6 grade A bio regional eggs in Germany. From an expensive inner city supermarket though. Cheapest looks like 2.79€ for 10 non-bio but still grade A eggs. Price varies but not so far off what the other guy said.

Then again, Germany can be quite expensive, I expect it’s cheaper elsewhere.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

For comparison, I just went to a site that aggregates stuff from small farmers. It's usually more expensive because of that (farm to table?) 10 eggs, free range (they apparently also have a youtube channel / stream of the chickens) - 4 Euro. Fed carrots, corn, wheat, etc. We get deals from our friends for less than that too.

In Cyprus in fairness, small island economy 😁

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

The brand in the image typically sold for about $6 a dozen last year. In a number of cases the prices have risen 50-100% in the last month

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

I used to be able to buy 5 DOZEN eggs for $10 at Sam's Club

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's expensive, although I've never seen the grade system before. A 12 pack of comparable large grade A eggs in the UK is around 4.50 GBP.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I was thinking about this when shopping last week. Went to lift 6 eggs, Saw they were like £2 and thought “clearly just an American thing at the minute”

I'm in PEI Canada. I'm getting eggs from a small local farm for $5 a dozen. I could probably get them cheaper but I like supporting the farm and the eggs are probably fresh enough to hatch.
